Did you hear it already? This mysterious sound that supposedly can only hear about two percent of the world's population ? Hard to say, because of course you first have to know how this sound sounds.
A deep humming similar to a generator or a fridge: Somehow that sounds very special. Some hardly notice it. For others, it is especially annoying.
Where can you hear the sound?
Allegedly the sound should be heard all over the world . It is clearer to hear at night and indoors. And of course you can hear the sound more in less populated and quiet areas.
But what exactly is it?
Similar to a tinnitus, the strange hum can in rare cases lead to insomnia, nervousness or headache. There is a case around the world where a person killed himself because he could not bear the sound anymore.

How is the noise made?
Researchers can not explain where the noise comes from. Some doctors assume that the sound is formed from the ear itself. Therefore, it is also easier to hear when no noise is present.
However, tinnitus is often continuous. However, those affected by the humming noise declare that this is location-related. Mobile phone networks or magnetic fields can not be responsible for the low humming sound, because this was reported before the development of mobile networks.
