So you stay active and mobile

When the joints ache and every movement becomes agony, a vicious circle develops: In order to escape the pain, one assumes a protective attitude and thus automatically a false posture . In the worst case, then movement is avoided - but that is exactly wrong. With a few tips, even beyond the movement, you can relieve joint pain and actively do something for your joint health .

Pads and wraps

To relieve acute joint pain, it is recommended to use pads and wraps for the affected areas. This is for example honey, because it has an anti-inflammatory effect. But also caraway powder or rosemary do the joints well. They stimulate the blood circulation, which may be useful for joint stiffness. For an overlay or wrap that stays on the skin for longer, you can massage in liquid honey, cumin powder or rosemary oil, put a damp, warm towel over it for 30-45 minutes and lightly fix.

Natural helper

The regeneration of the muscles and joints can be assisted with moisturizing and cooling gels from the pharmacy. Natural active ingredients such as arnica, menthol or cannabidiol (CBD) are particularly suitable for sore muscles, but also sports injuries, swelling, bruises or sprains. Especially cannabidiol, the natural active ingredient from the flower of the hemp plant, is said to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties . This substance is, unlike the better known THC, free of the intoxicating effect and can be used in the form of a gel or ointment targeted on the painful areas .

A massage with oils promotes blood circulation and warms the aching joint . At the same time, the muscles are pleasantly relaxed and blockages are released .

Here, too, warmth is good: Saunas of individually well-tolerated length loosen up the muscles that lead to the joints and can thus help to relieve pain.

Mattress and slatted frame check

Even if the nights are supposedly relaxing, they do not have to be that for the joints. Too hard or soft mattresses or an incorrectly adjusted slatted frame can have a negative effect on the joints during the night and can then be reflected as pain during the day. A scrutinizing view of one's own bed, possibly together with a specialist, is very worthwhile in order to relieve joint discomfort.

Move

In the case of severe joint pain, mild remedies should help. Is it better then or the pain is not too strong, exercise should be on the program! Joint-friendly walking in the fresh air, a few laps in the indoor swimming pool or simply targeted and deliberately performed movements of the affected joint: For example, for fingers and wrists, it is easy to knead an anti-stress ball in your hand for a few minutes. To get your knees and ankles moving, just sit on a chair, back and buttocks close to the backrest and alternately stretch one and the other leg. In stretched posture circle each with the ankle.

Since the diet also plays a major role in joint complaints, it pays to have a look at the plate : as low as possible and enriched with the vitamins C and E as well as with zinc, copper, selenium and manganese the diet should look like. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables also help to cover the increased need for many micronutrients due to joint wear.
