Now she expresses herself to the bad allegations

Four times mother Cherish Peterson made negative international headlines last week for forgetting her baby in a shopping cart. After an interview, more people now seem to understand the mother.

In the heat of the moment, Cherish Peterson forgets his two-year-old son Huxton and his car seat in a shopping cart last week. Her three-year-old daughter and her one-year-old son are already in the car when the mother sets off - firmly believing that her two-month-old son will be sitting right behind her. But then the big shock: When 40 minutes have already passed, she asks her daughter, where is baby Huxton. Cherish turns back and realizes that her youngest son is not in the car.

Panicked, she calls her husband and then makes her way back to the supermarket, where she stopped with her children to buy a present for her nephew on his 16th birthday. Entirely disbanded, Cherish Peterson addresses a female employee who tells her that a police officer who was not on duty at that time would have found her son just minutes after she left. Huxton was in the hospital now, because he did not know how long he would have been alone in the cart and did not know when he had last eaten.

The mother is allowed to take her child home with her. At first she was told that the whole thing would be considered an accident. But after the story of the forgotten baby goes public, it changes. Suddenly Cherish faces a huge shitstorm.

While being verbally abused by strangers who claim to be addicted to drugs or say she was not allowed to return her baby , the mother of four has to deal with Child Protective Service. Among other things, her six-year-old child, who was in kindergarten at the time of the incident, was interviewed. Cherish agrees with everything. She claims to have nothing to hide. Yet she does not know how she is happening and where all the hatred that hits her at once comes from.

After an interview with KPHO, people seem to find themselves, who can empathize with Cherish's situation. Because here the mother describes the events from her own point of view.

On the day Cherish forgot her two-year-old son in the shopping cart, she had suddenly remembered that she still had to get a present for her nephew on his sixteenth birthday. Since she gives her nieces and nephews either a bouquet of flowers or a sweets for the occasion, she went to the supermarket with three of her four children. She parked next to the entrance, grabbed a shopping cart and put her one-year-old son in the seat. Baby Huxton lay in his car seat in the car. Her three-year-old daughter ran beside her. As her baby's car seat occupied the entire shopping cart, Cherish placed the candy bouquet on top of the seat. After paying, she went straight to her car, grabbed the bouquet, put the little girl in the car, then the one-year-old, and grabbed the diaper bag. Then she started, believing that her two-month-old son would be behind her. Otherwise, her one-year-old son was always the last child she put in the car.

Cherish describes herself in the interview as a "good mother who made a terrible mistake". Her statement has led to more people understanding the 27-year-old mother who has not forgotten her child out of malice or intent. Use the hashtag #IStandWithCherish to help Cherish.

The Peterson family is still happy that nothing has happened to their son. Cherish's husband is fully behind his wife.

At this time, however, it is not yet clear what legal consequences the incident might have for the family.
