DIY ideas with fabric

Little effort, big impact: With these six simple sewing ideas, you can easily give your home a new look.

What you need for the door curtain:

  • 2.50 m fabric, 135 cm wide (eg of fabric and style)
  • 2.10 m Pom Pom Triangle in black
  • 1 m ocher-colored band
  • 2 large wooden balls (craft shop)
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and color matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Turn the sides of the fabric 2 times for 1 cm each and stitch.

2. Fix the pompom border with pins on one side of the fabric and sew on.

Turn the top edge 1 cm, then 9 cm for the tunnel and stitch.

4. Turn over the bottom edge of the fabric twice depending on the desired curtain length and sew on.

5. Pull the curtain onto the curtain rod.

6. Pull the wooden balls on the ribbon and secure the balls with knots.

What you need for the armchair groove silo:

  • gray fabric, approx. 40 cm wide, 27 cm long

1. Cut the foam board to the size of the table and stick it on with double-sided adhesive tape.

  • old table lamp

And that's how easy it is:

1. Sew the two fabrics right side together.

2. Measure the circumference of the lampshade and remove about 8 cm from it. Transfer to the fabric (so that the stripes are transverse) and cut out. Sew fabric right to right together to the hose.

3. Turn the fabric over the lampshade so that everything is smooth and even.

4. If necessary cut off the fabric at the top and bottom approx. 3 cm so that it rests tightly.

5. Glue double-sided tape around the top and bottom of the lampshade. Beat the fabric inwards and fix it on the tape.

What you need for the cabinet curtain:

  • Fabric, ca. 2, 10 (fabric and style)
  • curtain tape
  • adhesive Velcro tape
  • Lace in black
  • tape measure
  • French chalk
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and color matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Measure the shelf / cabinet and transfer the measurements to the left side of the fabric with a tailor's chalk.

2. Add seam allowance on the left and right, 2 cm at the top and 5 cm at the bottom. Cut the fabric.

3. Turn left and right two times 1 cm and fix. Turn over 2.5 cm at the bottom twice and fix. Turn over 2 cm at the top and put on the curtain tape from the left side. Sew everything in the lockstitch.

4. Gather the curtain tape so that the curtain fits exactly the width of the shelf .

5. Stick one side of the Velcro strip to the upper edge of the shelf, the other sew on the curtain tape.

6. Sew the point on the right side so that the seams are hidden.

7. Bolt the curtain to the shelf.
