Cool, fragile, unapproachable - that's what Michelle Pfeiffer (54) looks like in her roles. In the interview with us, nothing is felt. The Hollywood superstar casually talks about career difficulties, aging, family and the love of her life.

There have been long acting breaks for you lately ...

Michelle Pfeiffer : Hollywood does not treat nice women of a certain age. But I can not complain. The roles have become less, but better. I was not taken seriously because of my appearance as an actress. That changed when the first wrinkles came.

Are you worried about the teenage mania in Hollywood?

Michelle Pfeiffer: Not at all. After my 50th birthday, to my surprise, I felt strangely liberated. The pressure was gone. I just hope that I will have enough courage to grow old with grace.

They go to the psychotherapist regularly. What did you learn about yourself there?

Michelle Pfeiffer: How controlling I am. The root of the control problem is fear, because I want to know what could happen at any moment. I had to learn to accept the unknown. Children teach us that. Having children has changed me more than anything else.

Did you leave the city of Los Angeles for the kids?

Michelle Pfeiffer: No, not for her. My husband David and I had long been planning to live outside of Los Angeles, in northern California.

Did you find your luck there?

Michelle Pfeiffer: No, earlier. The turning point was finding the man of my life and becoming a mother. Since then, my life is in balance.

When you met your great love, you had just submitted an application for adoption for your daughter Claudia.

Michelle Pfeiffer: Yes, and I was afraid to tell him about it. But after he knew, that obviously made him love me even more.

You once said you need years to trust someone ...

Michelle Pfeiffer: David let me open immediately. He was the right man at the right time. I noticed with him: This can work well with us.

In 1993 Claudia came to the house, in 1994 John was born. How was it to become a mother ?

Michelle Pfeiffer: Being a mother is the hardest thing in the world. I often felt like having to go back to work just to be able to rest.

Now this role will gradually become easier for you ...

Michelle Pfeiffer : The nest is empty. Claudia is studying now, John is next year. Me that's rather sad. But it is a new phase of life.
