My Tropical Islands getaway

travelogue

If the summer leaves something to be desired, why not visit the world's largest indoor rainforest? WUNDERWEIB editor Jana Andres visited the Tropical Islands.

That's how it was at Tropical Islands

26 degrees Celsius, sun, sea noise ... although the Tropical Islands can not serve with the sun (apart from the solarium) it is tropical warm and the water also has a wispy temperature. The huge rainforest in the Tropical Islands, including waterfalls, real birds and Native American huts, gives rise to authentic jungle feeling.

My companion and I lived in one of the adventure lodges (from 99 Euro). Although we had no sink or toilet in our room, but a huge flat screen TV and a nice comfortable bed in tropical wood look. After slipping, swimming and running around the Tropical Islands, we sat down at the bar and ended the evening with some cocktails. Just stupid that we had to brush our teeth again over half the terrain had to go, since we had no sink in the room.

Small tip: just take a premium lodge (50 euros more expensive), which are equipped with its own sanitary facilities. Otherwise, especially in the evening, the mood was very nice, as the excitement and a little bit less and the pools were emptier. Practically it was also that you do not need cash but all expenses were booked on a chip card. Only at the exit you have to pay.

The journey is best done by car. Tropical Islands is located on the A13, about 60 km south of Berlin. A day pass for an adult in the Tropical Islands costs 29.50 euros, children under three years do not pay in the Tropical Islands, for children 4-14 years a Tropical Islands ticket costs 24 euros.
