Since April 5, Marijke Amado (59) literally puts "a hot sole" on the stage of the RTL show "Let's Dance" and skilfully dances the younger generation on the wall! What passion she still pursues - in addition to the hip swing - betrayed the popular presenter ("Mini Playback Show") exclusively in the interview.
How much has dancing changed your life?
Marijke Amado: I always say that when you dance, you become a lotus flower as a woman and you totally go away. A wonderful feeling!
At the age of 59 you are the oldest participant in this season. Do you feel that you are reaching your limits?
Marijke Amado: No, that has nothing to do with age. Even as a young person, you can take a wrong step and mislead you.
Would you like to encourage other women with their "Let's Dance" participation?
Marijke Amado: Yes! I want to show that women of my age do not need to hide. On the contrary! We still have a lot of energy in us - so we can do so many beautiful things.
What are you thinking about?
Marijke Amado: If we just sit behind curtains at home, nobody gets any of our zest for life! Dancing gives me so much positive approval and respect from all generations. It's never too late to start something new!
You wrote a book a few years ago about how you fell for a marriage swindler. A courageous book ...
Marijke Amado: That's right! After all, something happened to me that has happened to thousands of other women. I had the courage to write about my bad experiences. And many women thanked me afterwards, saying, "Finally someone who spoke openly, honestly and courageously."
What tips can you give betrayed women?
Marijke Amado: First of all, it is important that you start to believe in yourself and your strengths again. Personally, I have the experience: If you love someone else more than yourself, something in life goes awry. And if I do not know how to love myself, I'll never know how to give love to another person.
Are you in love again?
Marijke Amado: No! I am a happy single and not at all looking for a man. Of course, if I were to experience a nice man sneaking into my life, I would not be averse.
So you still believe in "the right one"?
Marijke Amado: Who knows, maybe I will meet the very big love? After all, my mother even met a great man at 85. You are never too old for love ...
