It is less than an hour from Munich - the village of Reit im Winkl (Upper Bavaria). Home is not just a word here: the peaks of the Alps tower majestically into the blue sky. The ringing of the cowbells penetrates quietly from the mountain pastures and the residents call out a heartfelt "hello!".
Exclusively for NEUE POST I travel to the little place where the singer Maria Hellwig († 90) had fulfilled her lifelong dream over 40 years ago.
