With his casting call #CastmeMarc Marc Jacobs had caused a lot of turmoil in the model world. Now we can finally admire the result.
Since the beginning of April we have been waiting to see which faces Marc Jacobs has chosen for his new Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign - and now the time has come: On Instagram, a video with the pictures has been released.
Nine new models can be admired. As you might expect, these are certainly not normal - that's not the collection, after all. The brightly-colored finalists, who come from countries including South Korea, Russia and Australia, present clothing that is heavily inspired by skate and BMX culture.
70, 000 applications were received in just a few days via Twitter and Instagram with #castmemarc at Marc Jacobs, together with Casting Director Anita Bitton this was reduced to 30 finalists and finally nine winners who were flown to New York for the shoot.
Marc Jacobs is convinced of the result: "The campaign fits in perfectly with the brand with its colorful, dynamic characters." Whether that suits your own taste or not: he is right!
