Man builds tiny house for the homeless

Wonderful friendship

60-year-old Smokie lives on the street near the home of a young man named Elvis Summer. After Smokie asked more often for garbage, which one still needs, a friendship developed between the two.

When Elvis read an article about an Oakland man who made small houses out of discarded materials, he came up with a great idea: He bought wood and other building materials and built a small hut on wheels for his friend Smokie. The whole cost about $ 500 and five days of construction.

Smokie was moved to tears and hung directly on a "Home Sweet Home" sign on the door. Finally she has a clean place to sleep.

First, Elvis Summer feared trouble with the police, because the house is right on the street, but the local police found the action great and supported them. However, the hut has to change place every 72 hours, which is not a problem due to the roles.

In addition to the cabin Elvis gave Smokie a mobile phone to contact her family. She can regularly recharge it at his home. "She should stop listening to the radio, so she does not have to charge so often, " says Elvis Summer with a grin.

A homeless person regularly asked him about his trash, and over time, a friendship developed that made a sweet gesture.
