"Mom dances without pants" Why my mother is my role model

To appoint the mother as her own example is easy to say. But what really makes the person who gave birth to me? Mother's Day is the time to look after the woman who has taken care of herself all her life. A letter to my mom:

Mom and I dance - with pants.

My mother is my role model. Heard often? Yes me too. The sentence is easy to say: Our parents finally raised us. In childhood they are incorrigible heroes. In adulthood, the view changes. One notices: Even parents have problems, mistakes and quirks. For some people their role model function is dwindling right now. For me, it only develops for me. What makes a person an example? In my opinion, it is the way he or she takes and masters life. And what makes my mother my role model? Mom, you have to be strong now: this article is all about you.

5 reasons why you are my role model, Mom

Because you are strong

I do not know a woman as strong as you are. Parents are always heroes for their children, but for me you've become the only one who has seen you even in difficult times. After realizing that you too are vulnerable and have not always had it easy. You moved to the big city on your own, got yourself into a job that was completely new to you. You have made a career while others have had children. And only get me when it really fit. You never made yourself dependent on another person.

Because you are modest

Time and again I realize how little I know about you. From your life before me, which is at least 38 years long. At some point I gave you a book called "Tell me something", because I want to know everything, every detail of your life that I could not experience. Because it has made you the person you are today and you make me who I am today. Incidentally, you have not filled it in until today - because it never has to be about you. It's always about you in my life.

You never put yourself in the center, always pushing your needs back to make others happy. The more thieving Dad and I are happy when we have managed to read your true wishes but once between the lines. Ha! A hit! It's almost like sinking ships.

Because you are much more than a mother

You are a cook. And baker. And flower princess dress seamstress. And storyteller. And bargain hunter. And wife. And mother. And sister. And sister-in-law. And cat keeper. You know what I'm aiming for: And you master each of these roles with flying colors.

Because you always stay positive

Stomach pain. Lovesickness. Bereavement. Defeats. Changing jobs. Diseases. Life holds a lot of pitfalls. But you seem to see them much more as challenges that you just have to go through, grow and carry on. I do not know how you do it, but you're doing pretty well. You know when it's time to be there for me - and when to tell me to pull myself together. Or laugh at me when the little hypochondriac can be seen.

Because you dance without pants

New Year's Eve sometime in the 90s: The family is together, it is eaten and played. A glass or something else falls over, at least Mama's pants are suddenly wet, maybe the wriggling child is guilty too. The few minutes later squeaky "Mum dances without hooose!" Screams through the house.

Because the child in Windelpopo - that is me - wants to dance. And you dance with it. Without pants. In the long sweatshirt. Because the pants are wet, you can not change. How to deal with it, but you can decide for yourself. And that's exactly what I learned from you. Thanks!
