Listeria were found in two samples of Gorgonzola from IGOR srl Italy. That's why the discount store Penny, which distributes the Gorgonzola cheese here in Germany, is now completely recalling the products "SAN FABIO GORGONZOLA DOP DOLCE 200g" and "SAN FABIO GORGONZOLA DOP PICCANTE 200g". The recall affects all best-before dates and batch numbers. According to information provided by Penny, the cheeses packaging is marked with the EAN code (bar code) 23685390 (DOLCE) and 22138569 (PICCANTE).

The consumption of the products is strongly discouraged. Purchased food can be returned in every penny store e .

The discounter chain is a preventive measure. Listeria are bacteria. They can trigger infections. The symptoms may be similar to those of flu. If you have a strong immune system, you have a low risk of getting sick. Persons with a weakened immune system, seniors, small children or pregnant women are particularly at risk. In the latter case, a disease can have dire consequences for the unborn child.
