Lilo Pulver: After the family tragedy, she finds no comfort

Liselotte ("Lilo") powder lives in a retirement home in Bern (Switzerland). However, she often returns to her home in Perroy (Lake Geneva).

In the place are also the graves of their loved ones.

June 6 is a terrible day for Lilo Pulver. Even after 22 years yet. It is the day she lost her beloved daughter Melisande. Under mysterious circumstances, the then 21-year-old fell from Bern's Münster, a famous church, to his death. A fatal blow that no mother ever gets twisted. And Melisande's father, actor Helmut Schmid, did not cope with him. He suffered a heart attack some time later, died on July 18, 1992.

This year the couple would have celebrated their golden wedding. Lilo Pulver has now completely withdrawn. Her sister Corinne Pulver (76) tells how the 81-year-old is doing today.

The 6th of June should be a horror day for your sister ...

Naturally! In any case. It's clear that you never forget something like that as a mother.

Many people suffer from nightmares after such a drama throughout their lives.

Everyone handles that differently. I could get over this better if I talk about it. But she is the opposite.

She dismisses everything with herself, does not let anyone approach her?

Yes. I think it's good to talk about it, it's mourning work. That's what my sister does, too, mourning, but she's not talking to others about it. But that's the way it is in our family. Our father was like that. That you keep everything to yourself, do not talk about such things. Death is a taboo topic.

This year has to be especially hard for your sister - she would have celebrated her golden wedding as well ...

Yes. She also celebrates her wedding anniversary every year until today. She goes on a ship that day, she always does it all by herself. Probably she is very busy with herself and evokes memories. She always did that with her husband, and now she does it alone. That probably works only alone.

You are very close to your sister. Can not you help her?

It is very difficult to help someone who has experienced something terrible. If someone really suffers, it's hard to bring comfort. You know how much she loved her husband. And to lose his husband and daughter, no woman can get over that.
