#likeagirl: Why racing like a girl is cool from now on

This campaign is intended to make girls more self-confident

Anyone who does something like a girl in the eyes of others is praised less for his graceful posture, but rather smiled at for his feeble achievement. That should change now!

Feminine hygiene manufacturer Always launched the campaign #likeagirl for this purpose . During the filming, an interesting experiment showed why the project is so important.

"Show me how a girl fights!" instructs director Lauren Greenfield to become a man. He starts to nip on the spot and wag his arms helplessly. Who now thinks that he is determined only a macho, was wrong: The representation of a woman is the same.

Even when throwing and running like girls, the six candidates behave similarly. They cling awkwardly, dropping the imaginary ball at their feet and taking care of their hair while sprinting.

Because that's the way we imagine doing something like a girl. But what happens when the director of the Always movie asks real girls to do the same things? The surprise: They run as fast as they can, throwing with a good swing and fighting as if it were about their lives.

#likeagirl should make clear how very young girls are influenced by such pejorative remarks and help to strengthen their self-confidence . "Why should 'race like a girl' mean that you do not win in the end?" asks a participant at the end of the video. Yes, why?
