A video goes through the social networks and tears countless people around the world to tears. It is the message of a 14-year-old who addresses the President of Chile with an extraordinary request. Valentina Maureira personally asks Michelle Bachelet for euthanasia.

In hereditary disease, the function of the mucus-forming glands in the body is disturbed. Secretions that are released into body cavities, such as the lungs or digestive organs, are too tough and cause disorders of the respective organs. Although the development of the disease has improved today, only around one half of the patients reach the age of majority, the average life expectancy is 35 to 40 years.
Valentina Maureira is only fourteen years old. Nevertheless, she has enough of life - so she says in her heartbreaking video. After witnessing the agonizing death of her then-six-year-old brother, who also suffered from cystic fibrosis, she wants to take her own life into her own hands. She asks Chilean President Michelle Bachelet for euthanasia.

The video shows effect: Michelle Bachelet actually reacts and gives Valentina a visit. Nevertheless, she can not fulfill her last wish; euthanasia is forbidden in Chile. The decision did not seem to have been easy for the president, she wanted to support the Maureira family in the best possible way.
Her father understands Valentina. He also addressed numerous letters to the President to discuss the topic of euthanasia. But the 14-year-old filmed her last wish all alone, not even her family knew about the public request.
