The only difference is that in the heat treatment of fresh milk (pasteurization), only 10 percent of the heat-sensitive B vitamins (eg folic acid) are lost, while with UHT milk, the figure is already 20 percent.

Is "longer-fresh milk" better?

This type of milk has a flavor between fresh and H-milk. It has almost as much nutrients as fresh milk, but it lasts two weeks longer. Because it is heated after pasteurization for about two seconds to 127 degrees. Due to the longer shelf life, it is a good alternative to fresh and H-milk.

Is it true that milk can trigger allergies?

This is only for infants. With them, milk can cause rash. Mostly the allergy but loses until the third year of life. The rule was long: no cow's milk in the first year of life. Today, we know that milk only triggers an allergy if it is predisposed, for example if the parents have hay fever. Otherwise baby food based on cows milk is also allowed.

How good is organic milk really?

She is definitely healthier! This is due to the healthy diet of organic cows: plenty of pasture grass and organic food. It contains valuable omega-3 fatty acids that protect the heart. These go into the milk. Therefore, the omega-3 content of organic milk is higher than that of normal milk.

  • Raw milk is freshly milked milk. It remains untreated and is only available directly from the farmer. Raw milk should be boiled before drinking to kill possible germs.
  • Pasteurized milk, also known as fresh milk, is heated at 75 ° C for about 30 seconds, then quickly cooled again. So it is germ-free. Fresh milk can be stored at + 8 ° C for about 5-6 days, opened at most 2-3 days.
  • H-milk is UHT. That is, the raw milk is heated at 135 ° C for about 3 seconds. As a result, it is practically germ-free and can be stored unopened for 3-6 months at room temperature, without getting bad. Keep opened UHT milk in the refrigerator and use within 4 days if possible.
  • Homogenized milk can be either fresh milk or H-milk. It is pressed in addition to the heat treatment in addition by fine nozzles. As a result, it does not frame so quickly, is easier to digest and tastes more full-bodied.
