From Ocholt to Miami
It is the story of a young man who set out to finally realize his big dream. With success!
High school diploma, military service, apprenticeship as an insurance salesman. All this in the 3000-soul village Ocholt in Ammerland. There, the classic way to work. But none that satisfied Lars Vegas (40).
The young man had a dream: a life in sunny Miami, producing a movie there. So Lars packed his bags and moved out - without money, but not without reason. And yes, today he writes his parents postcards from the dream city in Florida ...
Because here Lars Vegas is currently shooting the Hollywood movie "Caprikorn". The special feature: the young German does not pay a dime for it! True to his motto: "I'll do the world as I like it." Lars Vegas says: "The film is about a typical Miami story: drugs, conspiracies, gangsters, beautiful women and lots of music. A sort of modern 'Miami Vice', but very different. "
And how does he manage that it does not cost him anything? Lars Vegas: "I met a lot of people here in Miami, who are not only very nice, but also rich in stuff. They have already experienced everything and can buy everything. But helping a young German to fulfill his dream is really an adventure for them. "
And so he puts a private plane or megayacht at his disposal, the other his luxury car, another his luxury villa or the beachfront apartment.
But does he really pay nothing for it? Lars Vegas laughs, then says, "Well, I promised all supporters that they could be present at any time during the shooting. That was great. And it does not bother me ... "
If all goes well, then the film is ready in autumn next year. And then decide whether the young man from Ammerland actually becomes an "Oscar" candidate.
His parents are already excited - and of course very proud of their son. Lars Vegas: "They always supported me with all their might and have never found any of my ideas too crazy."
Maybe because they too know: sometimes you have to reach for the stars to fulfill your biggest dream .
