No snow for Christmas: But now the onset of winter is finally coming
It's a bit scary already. 15 degrees to Christmas and many trees are already blooming. Nature plays a bit crazy. Since you are almost looking forward to a onset of winter. And it could be there on New Year's Eve, because all signs are on the way for winter.
Especially in the east and south, it gets noticeably colder on the last days of the year. Here the temperatures barely climb above the 5-degree mark. In places it can also be below zero degrees. In the nights it is also - compared to the previous temperatures - bitterly cold. Here it can be up to -5 degrees cold.
In the west, however, the mild weather is still preserved until the end of the year. It will be dry with sunshine. On New Year's Eve, there may be frost in the north and west. The rain that falls during the day can turn into snow at night.
Also in the first week of January it will be frosty in the east of Germany. From Sunday, cold weather will bring rainfall all over Germany. This can sometimes be the first snow.
Even though we might be looking forward to the first snow now. On average, winter temperatures are still higher than in the last 30 years.
