An app that protects us on the way home at night? That's exactly what the Komm Gut Heim app can do. It alerts friends via push message if you depart from the previously entered route. How's it working? Here!
"Please contact me if you are well received!" Katharina Hochmuth had certainly heard this phrase one hundred times before her nocturnal journey home. Together with her fellow students Tim Hautkappe, 23, and Mario Pfaller, 20, the 20-year-old developed the "Komm Gut Heim" app (available at www.kommgutheim.eu or in the AppStore ).
Using the globally working tool you can select mobile contacts and enter the start and finish (similar to Google Maps). The "virtual companions" have to confirm the request briefly and then can track the way home via a map in real time. In an emergency, they always know the exact location of the reveler. "DieApp gives both sides a better feeling, " says Katharina. For even the home player is shown who does not let him "live" out of sight and brings to the front door.
