Actually, Queen Elizabeth does not let anyone take pictures in her private living room . In Balmoral, however, she made an exception when visiting the New Zealand Prime Minister John Key. She allowed a New Zealand Herald photographer to shoot a commemorative motif. And that allowed quite private insights into the kingdom of the Queen

At first glance you can see an elderly lady in an elegant grandma-look, opposite her, fine in a suit, a gentleman in his best age - both in a cozy, stylish but by no means splendidly furnished salon.

But if you take the photo bigger and bigger, it reveals interesting details. First of all, it is noticeable: It seems to be autumnal in Scotland, because Queen Elizabeth is already heating, but probably only by the hour the rooms that are being used. Because: In the large fireplace is a fan heater. So there is no flickering or crackling - as is the case today - electrically operated "artificial" flames, but rather a device provides warm air, which can be ordered in every department store.

Another striking thing is that there are dog-beds around, from which one can conclude that the Corgies or Dorgies were locked out in the conversation with the Premier as a precautionary measure. But there is a stuffed dog perched on a side table. Of course, the Queen also likes flowers. But to spy are not florist-styled arrangements, but a few white orchids in the pot, as they are in many of our good rooms.

Interestingly, however, a look at the nicely framed private photos.

As is usual with the nobility, they are in large numbers on tables, consoles and dressers. One recognizes Prince Andrew with his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie - without Fergie. The Queen does not seem to like to see it daily. But her youngest grandchild Prince George . Obviously enthroned on a cabinet above a dog basket is a picture of William, Kate and her baby George . One marvels: the photo, and William left all the press agencies in the world. Behind the frame, a small bouquet of vetch looks out. A sign that the queen likes this private photo very much and therefore often looks at it with great pride.
