Salut for a birthday

King Carl Gustaf of Sweden became 68th For the Bernadottes and for the people, this was of course a reason to celebrate. This means salute shots according to the Swedish tradition, a march of the bodyguard and the naval musicians in the forecourt of the Stockholm Palace, joyful waving of the majesties from the palace balcony and flowers gifts from children, who lined up as usual and honored the jubilee with knicks and servants. Then a small reception in the castle followed.

Sure, the photographers hoped that mini-princess Estelle would (once again) steal the show from her grandpa to take some good snapshots. Fortunately, the little one did them a favor, because the vision that Princess Madeleine would make congratulatory with her daughter Leonore, had already shattered in advance. Madeleine announced that she would stay in New York and instead sent her best wishes to her father with a sweet baby photo over the Internet.

Incidentally, the day before the birthday of the Swedish royal family had high and dear relatives guest: Belgium's majesties Philippe and Mathilde came to the inaugural visit. With Carl Gustaf's day of honor, however, had the seventh foreign trip of the two since her assumption of office in July last year, nothing to do. The temporal proximity was coincidence. Exactly on the royal birthday, the Belgian royals were back on a foreign tour. Your destination: Norway. In Oslo, Philippe and Mathilde were then warmly received by King Harald and Queen Sonja and of course the political celebrities. A museum visit was also on the short program.
