The sweetest collaboration ever

The latest collaboration from J.Crew sounds a bit crazy: a kindergartner was hired as a co-designer. Nevertheless, one can promise a lot of cooperation.

Mayhem, despite her tender age, is a pretty bright, creative kid. The little girl loves to tinker and started at the beginning of the year with her DIY blog #FashionbyMayhem, on which she (of course together with her parents) sticks and decorates what it takes.

The results of her craft can be seen: Mayhem reproduced red carpet clothes so convincingly that J.Crew Creative Director Jenna Lyons became aware of them - and asked for a collaboration. At the J.Crew Headquarters, the four-year-old created paper clothes just like in his own hobby room, which were then re-sewn.

"When we met Mayhem for the first time, we were very curious to see how she would work, and we were surprised to see that just four-year-old girl meticulously start arranging the folds of a skirt and the gems on a top that she was straightening to hang around, to place exactly, "said J.Crew designer Jenny Cooper.

Apparently also Mayhem had great fun at the craft lesson: In a blog post her mother wrote that she did not want to go anymore. With so much enthusiasm we are already looking forward to the sweet Capsule Collection.
