Jan Smit: "You do not need hobbies with children

A terribly normal family

For his family, he drives home 250 kilometers in the evening and back to Belgium in the morning: Jan Smit (27) is a genuine family man who even lives in his hometown Volendam. The Dutch singer, who finally released a German-language album ("Ich bin da") after eight years, simply loves being at home.

He told that in an interview. Off the stage, he leads a normal family life: "Every morning at half past seven our girls get up, we bring them to school at half past eight, then we put on little Emma, ​​then we take a shower, so we finish the children first . "

Since 2011 Jan Smit is married to his wife Liza. Together they have daughter Emma (2), Liza's daughter Fem (5) comes from a previous relationship.

"I go to the supermarket and do the things you do, " says Jan. "I like cycling with Emma."

A stink normal family life so? "Yes, with children you do not need hobbies, you have something to do all day long."

In the Netherlands, Jan Smit is a superstar. Is there enough time left for the family? "Sure, " he assures. "I have a lot more time than other fathers, they work, they have to go to the office at seven in the morning and they are back late, so I often only perform in the evening."

But that's not all. During the filming of his film "The Bombing" (2012) he shot in Belgium and drove 250 kilometers home every night. "And then leave at five in the morning." Grinning, he adds, "I like being at home."

On September 5, another child joins in: wife Liza gets her third child, a son. However, Jan did not want to reveal what that meant.
