Instagram - hot or not?

Blogger Laura on Instagram

Dearest LHolly Loves Paul friends, I have been thinking for some time about creating an Instagram profile. People are constantly telling me that I should also register there, because there are so many beautiful photos to see.

First of all, I'm pretty old-fashioned, means I own no smartphone (well, I should probably get one thing up to study) and it is indeed through my blog already millions of photos of me on the net.

Second, I'm not the biggest fan of social media either. I just do not see any sense in having 1, 358 friends on Facebook, of whom I only know an estimated 15 percent personally and who are not interested in my innermost emotional life anyway. It does not make me a VIP, nor does it give me the illusion of being a more popular person if I have more than 200 friends - that's why I currently have exactly 145 and I've met them all in person!

I feel like I'm sinking into a mess of blogs, Facebook fan pages, tweets and Instagram photos - what's this all about? Seriously, I've seen iPhone addicts not letting their phone down all day and checking their Instagram feed every second, just to "like" every single picture, no matter how grotesque the person is the picture looks like or how bad the quality is!

Anyway, Instagram is certainly very inspiring and would not be so bad for my blog because I could always bring my readers up to date with a "Holly Loves Paul" profile ... at least that's faster than every day to write a text for my new post. So what do you think, Instagram - hot or not? Should I surrender to the photo-sharing app and finally live up to date?

Now you get to see some pictures of my adventures from New York and Germany - say cheese, you're on Instagram!
