Wonderful project

In order to persuade people to adopt a street dog, Ikea came up with something special with some dog protection organizations.

In Singapore there are countless stray dogs, the rescue stations are mercilessly overcrowded: For this reason, Ikea, together with the animal protection organizations "Animal Lovers League" and "Save Our Street Dogs", developed a campaign to persuade people to adopt . The creative project they called " Home for Hope ".

Ikea photographed the dogs waiting for a home and made cardboard displays of the original size, which they integrated into their living environment. On the easels read: "Adopt a pet to complete your home!". There is also a QR code that potential dog owners can scan to access the Home for Hope project website. On the website, they learn everything about the project and receive information about the animals, which stand as cardboard displays in the Ikea. In addition, there is important information on the dog ownership and responsibility that such adoption entails.

The action was mainly initiated because the protection stations for animals in need had no funds for advertising. On the social media you usually only animal lovers, but already have pets and so very few animals are taught. Through "Home for Hope", the protection stations want to appeal to people who still have room for a four-legged friend in their home. Other furniture stores have now become aware of the action and want to participate. In the hope that hundreds of stray dogs in Singapore awaiting adoption will soon be available.
