Close Husz: A seat cube gets a fabric dress

Photo: deco & style

A seat cube asks for a table

Square, convenient, good ...

Sewing a husk can be so quick and easy. Trendy chic and color matching the fall season, the seat cube has wrapped in a Husse made to measure. Fresh flowers are very good for him!

You need this:

Stool cubes, for example, "Solsta Pällbö" by Ikea, sewing machine, fabric in orange, tape measure, fabric scissors, border, Steknadeln, hot or textile glue

And this is how it's done:

1. Cutting: For the cover : First, cut five pieces of fabric according to the stool size (including 1 cm seam allowance per side or 3 cm for the hem). Example: For a stool case with the dimensions 37 x 38 x 38 cm you need a square of 40 x 40 cm and 4 side parts of 40 x 41 cm.

2. Pinning: Place two of the cut side panels right side on right side and fix with pins on one long side (in our example 41 cm) and sew together. Tip: Start sewing at the top edge after 1 cm. This makes it easier to sew on the corners when connecting to the cover part.

3. Stitching: Unfold the two side panels and slightly topstitch the seam allowances on the left and right of the seam. In this way, sew all the side panels together to form a hose. Now place the cover part with the right side up on the sewing machine and sew on the side pieces. Sew seam allowances on both sides again. Then hammer in the lower edge twice by 1.5 cm inwards and also stitch off. Finally, fix a patterned border with hot or textile glue at the desired location.

Afterwards, the sewn-on top has to be slipped over the stool - and the new look in autumn tones is perfect ...
