skin aging

Acupuncture comes from traditional Chinese medicine and is also used as an anti-aging method against wrinkles. Whether the small pinpricks can actually rejuvenate the skin and how the acupuncture works, you can find out here.

Acupuncture as a natural lift

Acupuncture not only aims to tighten certain parts of the skin, as is the case with Botox treatment . This method focuses on holistic rejuvenation. The effect is to be evoked by stimulating certain acupuncture points - so-called energy points - on the face and neck. The skin and the muscle tissue should be so positively influenced and the acupuncture thereby rejuvenate.

Cosmetic Acupuncture: That's how it works

In addition to the energy points, the thin acupuncture needles are also pierced directly into the folds, such as the thinker's wrinkles on the forehead, the so-called wrinkle of wrinkles between the eyebrows, or the delicate lines of laughter on the eye. There they stay for about 20 minutes. The needles are not only intended to promote blood circulation and thus stimulate skin metabolism, but also stimulate elastin and collagen production. Elastin keeps the skin smooth and supple, while collagen acts to cushion. Visible results are expected after the eighth to tenth acupuncture treatment, in which the wrinkles are significantly reduced. Around ten sessions within three weeks should rejuvenate the skin. Thereafter, a refresher is necessary every four to eight weeks.

Criticism of this method

Experts doubt that acupuncture actually helps against wrinkles . So far, there is not a single study that demonstrates the effectiveness of the needles on the ugly lines on the skin . However, the experts agree, one looks generally more rested after such a treatment.
