Bella Burton is suffering from the Morquio syndrome, a rare genetic defect. This disease affects bone growth and limits the mobility of those affected. So Bella Burton can barely walk - if she had not her best friend George.
The assistance dog is a great help
George is an assistant dog and about twice the size of the girl. Thanks to the Great Dane, Bella can walk as she is leaning against him. She does not need her crutches anymore. She has already tried a lot, which should make her walk easier. But with George, it works best!
The two spend a lot of time together. George accompanies the girl everywhere. During the day he goes to school with her and at night he sleeps in her bed.
George is a great companion for the girl
Bella has made great strides since she got George last year. The lively girl can finally romp with Georges help outside again and ride a bicycle. When she falls, she gives him a command so he knows he has to rest. Bella then pulls up on her dog and then stands on his own legs again. So he is a big help to her.
