Shining late summer

Spendabel and colorful shows the September. The table covers itself, and the beds let us indulge in the colors of the sun.

We sowed and planted already in the spring, and in September we can enjoy the fruits of our work wonderfully. This month not only gives us crisp apples from the garden. Fruits and vegetables also ripen on the balcony: if you have planted strawberries, for example, you can snack on sweet minis by the autumn, and late-season cocktail tomatoes in the bucket turn red in the late summer sun.

garden Tips

However, be sure to protect the tomato pots from rain - this will prevent fungal diseases, and the fruits will remain edible. The balcony harvest tastes best when picked fresh. If it may be a bit more, click on www.mundraub.org where you can see on a map where fruit trees grow in your area that can be harvested.

But also for a sensuous table decoration is well taken care of: flower beds and flower boxes are currently so abundant that you confidently cut flowers for the vase.

Single pieces

It does not always have to be a whole bunch. Zinnias, Cosmeen, Montbretien and Hahnenkamm also look good as soloists. Vases in green make them look even fresher and match many flower colors.

Garden maintenance : We will do it in September

1. Plant crocuses: Place the tuber about 5 cm deep in the beds or pots and pour sparingly.

2. Tomato care: Cut off flowers, so that the plants put their strength into the last fruits.

3. Picking blackberries: It is best to enjoy it fresh and to cook or give the rest to jam.

If you're lucky enough to have an apple tree in the garden, you're looking forward to the fruits - but sometimes it's a bit much at once. Invite friends to the picking party. After work, you serve coffee, apple pie and for each helper a basket of apples to take away.
