3 quick tips

August is our merry month - the sun's rays of summer warm us and our plants and flowers.

In this season, we like to put up your feet! You can and should do that too! But how about a bit of gardening in between?

We have three quick, helpful tips for planting and caring for the balcony, terrace and in the garden .

GARDEN TIP 1: Support Dahlias

Dahlias like to raise their flowers. But if they grow too far, you need your help!

Give a little support to your beloved dahlias in the garden and attach tall flowering plants to a garden plug. If you prefer using natural materials, just pick up a bamboo stick. This will give your dahlias a secure hold and the flower lease can grow even further.

TIP 2: Maintain lavender

Lavender is in the month of August particularly in need of care. Take care of him!

For example, you should trim blooms by a third. Make sure that the lavender gets as sunny a spot as possible, because under the warm sunshine it feels so good. Regular fertilization (but not too much) and watering should not be forgotten.

Our tip: Sprinkle a little bit of lime on the ground when the flowering is over in the late summer.Make yourself a small sticky note within reach: In the spring, bring compost into the ground! So the lavender grows again and again.

TIP 3: Plant strawberries

The most suitable strawberry planting time is August! If you sow early, you can harvest well and enjoy the delicious berries next year. Therefore, plant these fruits according to the motto: "The sooner, the more!"

Our short tips:

Before planting you should put the freshly purchased plants with the roots briefly into the water. After the water bath necessarily plant directly. An ideal distance in between is about 30 cm.

It should also be noted that the heart is approximately at the level of the earth's surface. Press firmly on the plants at the end.

Now it is time to pour vigorously - the soil must not dry in the first two weeks. From time to time, fertilize the plants with strawberry fertilizer.

Let's go to the garden or the balcony!
