The abbreviations at a glance:

  • M: mesh
  • R: row
  • Rd: Round
  • Edge M: edge stitch
  • str: knit
  • wdh: repeat

That's what you need for the teddy:

  • Schachenmayr / SMC "Extra Merino" (100% virgin wool (Merino superwash, length approx. 130 m / 50 g) 100 g medium gray mottled Fb 92, 50 g in offwhite Fb 02 Cremerosa Fb 36)
  • Needle no. 3.5
  • synthetic filling cotton
  • black pearl yarn
  • 2 black buttons with bridge

And this is how it's done:

MASK TASTE: 22 M and 30 R = 10 x 10 cm.

BASIC PATTERN: Smooth Right = Knit right M in rounds (R). Knit back-right M and back-R left sts.

INCREASE: After the 1st st and before the last st, work 1 st and knit it off in the next row on the right.

REMOVAL: Knit the 2nd and 3rd sts on the right side, knit the third and second last sts on the right side.

PUNKT PATTERN: M-number divisible by 4 + 1 edge-m. 1st and 2nd R: Smooth right in white. 3rd and 4th R: Lift-M in middle gray. Take edge-M, * 1 right, 3 sts for left-hand knit (follow the thread on the left side of the knit, from * always wdh, finish with right-hand 1-st, edge-sts 5, and 6. R: smooth right-hand in white 7. and 8th round: Raise-M in mid-gray, edge sts, * 2 sts for left-hand knitting, 1 sts right, 1 sts to left knit, repeat from *, repeat with 1 sts to piece off left, edge sts Repeat 1st to 8th rounds.

Work all parts with 4 needles from the game: Spread the M on 3 needles and knit with the 4th needle.

HULL: Cast in gray (from top to bottom) cast on 30 sts = knit 10 sts per needle and knit in basic pattern on round. The first increases in the 3rd round work = 6 increased M = 36 sts. The following increases work 3 times in every 2nd round, 1x in the 4th round and 2x in the 6th round = 72 sts = 24 sts per needle After 10 cm = work in the 31. R the first decreases = 6 taken off M = 66 M. The decreases still work 3 times in every 3rd round, 3 times in every 2nd round and 3 times in each round = 12 sts Sew 12 sts in knitting stitch.

RIGHT LEG: (Begin with the sole of the foot) Cast on 9 sts in gray and knit 2 R Gray, 2 R off-white in the basic pattern. For the increases on both sides in every 2nd round 3 sts 1 st, in sts on row 4 increase 1 st = 17 sts. 14 rows inc 1 sts, then dec 1 st on both sides = 15 sts. Decrease 1x in 4th row and still 2x in every 2nd row = 9 sts. After 36 sts leave the 9 sts on the needle and pick up 51 sts from the sole of the foot around in gray. Knit over this 60 sts 4 rounds, then for the foot sheet at the upper round 7 m mark. Knitted in each round before these M 2 sts on right side, knit after these 7 sts 2 sts to the right = 58 sts. These decreases still 11 times = 36 m. Knit 15 round straight, then knit 2 sts for upper inner leg slope at the appropriate point (3 sts to right) and knit 5 sts each side before and after these M, then bind off 26 sts.

For the left leg, start the sole in wool white and knit in the dot pattern, knitting the ins and outs only in the wool white Hin-R. Do not count the R with the gray dots in the increments and decreases. The upper leg slope work the same.

ARMS: Cast on 8 sts in wool white and knit in R in basic pattern, increasing in every other row 2 times in every 2 rows and 1 st in RS 4 = 14 sts. After 12 sts inc 1 sts. Cast on 9 sts in middle gray and knit in R in basic pattern, increasing 1 st on each side in every 2nd row and 1 st = 1 st in the 4th row = 15 sts. Add 14 sts to the inside and cast on all 29 sts Work in gray on round ground, knit 1 white and gray st in color on the 1st round = 27 sts. Knit 32 rounds straight, then mark the center sts (= gray outside) for the top edge of the arm and both sides in Take off each round 4x 1 st, then cast off remaining 19 sts.

HEAD: Begin with 18 sts in the back center = knit 6 sts per needle and knit in basic pattern on round. On the 5th round, after every M, increase 1 st = 72 sts. Knit 6 rows without declines, then mark the position for the ears: Work 12 sts left, 12 sts on right, 12 sts left, Rd with 36 right sts break up. After 6 rounds off ear mark 3 declines: 2 sts in center of ears, between each 22 sts mark 1 x 2 sts. Knit 2 times stocking sts on right 2 sts = 66 sts. Work 2 sts on every other round = 4 sts = 42 sts, then work 5 times in each rd = 12 sts Work 3 dc again and take the last 6 sts on a thread and sew.

Cast on 14 sts in gray for the right ear and knit in R in the basic pattern. In the 2nd row after each st = 13 sts 1 st = 27 sts. After 10 sts from the st in the stripe pattern = 2 rows each off white, 2 r continue gray. Knit together in the 9th row of the stripe pattern 13x 2 sts. After 12 rows of stripes cast off 14 sts. Start the left ear in the same way, but work after 10 R from the stop in the dot pattern.

COMPLETION: stuff all parts except the ears with filling cotton. Tighten the head opening with the stop thread tightly and sew. Close the narrow sides of the ears and sew the ears to the head: The left-hand stems on the head are for marking. Sew on the button eyes. Embroider the nose with the black pearl yarn, the mouth in the stitch. Sew the head onto the trunk, then sew on the arms. Finally sew on the legs: Here decides the position, whether the teddy should stand or sit.

SHOE: Cast on 8 sts in cream pink and knit approx. 35 - 40 cm garter sts = back and forth rows sts. Tie in short fringes at the ends.
