His 17-year-old daughter died in the crash
Hans de Borst mourns for his daughter, who sat in the downed flight MH17. Now he has written an emotional open letter to the "murderers".
"Many thanks to Mr. Putin, the Seperatist leaders or the government of Ukraine, who have my beloved and only child on their conscience." With this cynical remark begins the letter that the Dutchman Hans de Borst has now published on the Internet (see below).
Elsemieke de Borst was his daughter and one of 298 victims in the disaster over the crisis area of eastern Ukraine. Her mourning father explains that she was only a year off school, wanted to become an engineer and was looking forward to a relaxing holiday in Malaysia.
Without the 17-year-old daughter his life would be ruined, de Borst confesses at the end. He hopes that Russian President Putin and all the other responsible people are proud of the plane shooting and can still look in the mirror in the morning .
Within a short time de Borst's letter was shared thousands of times on Facebook. As a sign of compassion - and anger at those responsible behind the launch of Flight MH17 .
