Sweet secret for Helene
Christmas: The Christmas tree is brightly lit, the presents are lovingly wrapped, and the kitchen smells of fresh pastries. Showmaster Florian Silbereisen (31) will also make himself really comfortable at the festival. How did you spend the days before Christmas?
Florian Silbereisen: In the past few weeks I have prepared our tour with my team in the spring. That went until December 18th, the last days before Christmas Eve, I then attuned myself with Christmas songs and a stroll over the Christmas market on the feast.
Do you have any presents together?
Florian Silbereisen: By now yes (laughs). Traditionally, only my 13 nieces and nephews get Christmas presents and of course Helene. I thought of something nice for her.
Does she get a ring?
Florian Silbereisen: (Laughs) No, but a love-filled Christmas present . I think she will be very happy.
That sounds mysterious. Which traditions do you cultivate for the festival?
Florian Silbereisen: On the 24th of December my mum and my sister are always preparing sausages with sauerkraut. Mom always tastes best. The next day there will be goose with homemade potato dumplings, red cabbage and cranberries. That will be delicious again! And of course we all go to the service.
What wishes do you have for 2013?
Florian Silbereisen: Looking back on a very nice year, I hope the next one will be just as great. That my loved ones stay healthy and I can spend a lot of time with them. And of course, that I can continue to entertain my viewers as a showmaster.
And for your relationship?
Florian Silbereisen: I wish that Helene and I continue to be so happy.
Will there be time for two next year?
Florian Silbereisen: Of course! We really enjoy these breaks from our jobs. I love relaxing Sundays with my girlfriend at home: sleep well, have breakfast extensively and then look out into nature or on the sofa a great old movie.
