Homophobia in the net
Carlotta Trevisan, 28, refused to delete the photo of two kissing women from their Facebook page after people called it "disgusting". Now her account has been deleted
On the Internet you will find a lot of nauseating, vile and unpleasant photos. It's clear that with social media communities like Facebook, it's not possible to check all the millions of images that are uploaded here every day. So, as soon as it really comes to an account being deleted, there must be a really drastic case. Or not?
Unfortunately, the reality looks like this: The photo of two kissing women, with a painted rainbow, has resulted in the account of Carlotta Trevisan (28) being deleted.
The Italian received a message stating that she had broken Facebook's "Nudity and Pornography" policy. Because of this picture! The woman had posted the photo of the kissing women on the International Day Against Homophobia on Saturday.
On her Facebook pin board "friends" complained about the photo, one commented that he found the picture "disgusting", another posted, he had "children, he would have to protect". Facebook asked Carlotta to delete the image when she declined, she got the message that her profile would be deleted as it violated the "Community Guidelines."
In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Carlotta Trevisan says, "What's so bad about this photo, you can find so many of them on Google, how can a picture cause so much sensitivity?" There's nothing wrong with a kiss When people of the same sex kiss, I only see love, nothing else. "
Meanwhile, Carlotta's Facebook page has been restored. The kiss photo is now her profile picture.
