Decorative in the merry month

I start traditionally with friends and family during a festive "dance in May" in the bliss and flower month. And as it should, the garden and the apartment are properly decorated.

As the saying goes, "April does what it wants". So too this year: From midsummer temperatures, the ushering in of the barbecue and picnic season up to unsustainable squalls, April has shown all its facets. The greater the joy of May, because "everything is new May".

Mini Maypole

Of course, a small maypole may not be missing as the centerpiece of May Day . Beautifully decorated with colorful crepe ribbon, you not only fulfill a Maitradition, but also create a festive atmosphere. If you do not have a balcony or garden, you can still set up a small tree. Even in a large vase you can drape decorated birch branches and make for an eye-catcher.

Homemade spring garlands

It becomes especially festive when you design a sky of spring garlands. For this you can sew from old scraps of playful pennants in different sizes and fasten all together on a string. In the garden or on the terrace you can stretch them wonderfully from tree to tree, attach them in the apartment to the ornament on the walls and in the windows.

Fairy lights and lanterns

For a romantic touch fairy lights and lanterns provide. A warm light makes them a real eye-catcher in the dark and sets small color accents. There are even many different solar light chains in the hardware store. This saves you the annoying cable mess and at the same time protects the environment. If you also place paper lanterns in a few places, you will get a really cozy sea of lights.

As always, flowers must not be missing from me. For the start of the flower month peonies fit perfectly in the apartment, the house or the garden . Whether tied to a lush bouquet of flowers or as a single flower in a small vase, the full bloom of peony roses is always a small highlight.

The eye is eating

Also at the buffet you can create the decoration hand. With small doilies and playful napkins you can easily untangle the otherwise bare table. Not only delicious, but also nice to look at are wake-up dishes. Simply pre-portion the potato salad in mini mason jars, decorate with a basil leaf and prepare for the guests. For dessert, there is a quark dessert or a Weck-Kitchlein.

Lastly, of course, do not forget yourself. For the ladies, there are braided floral wreaths, which are stuck with a hairpin and in the men's range a flower in the lapel.
