Eva Brenner: My deco ideas for autumn

With small decoration tips in a comfortable home in autumnal look

Autumn is considered the "golden season" and yet it is often rather sad.

Not least because the days are getting shorter, the sky is wrapped in a deep gray and umbrellas, capes and boots against the bad weather for a constant companion. But the better you know the feeling of wanting to cuddle up in a cozy blanket with a cup of tea or a hot chocolate in a blanket and to watch the cold water out of the warm with a good book.

A heart for the fall

Gradually the treetops are clearing, so now is the right time to get a piece of autumn into the house. I also manage to create an autumnal atmosphere in my own four walls with a small hand. Even if - or better - just because I travel a lot to the "home in happiness" (on Tuesday, 20:15, RTL2), the time in my home is particularly valuable, because nowhere you feel more comfortable. And that's why you should lovingly prepare your kingdom - and also in autumn.
Everything you need for an autumn decoration can be found right on your doorstep. Boots, scarf and jacket on, it's ready to go. During a walk on a beautiful autumn day, when the sun warms your cheeks while the cold wind whistles around your ears, you can optimally collect autumn leaves, wooden sticks, acorns, pine cones, moss stones and much more. It's not only healthy, it's fun too!

The classic are the trendy canning jars, which can be redesigned for any occasion, as well as for the fall season. Currently, you can buy the massive glasses everywhere, but you often forget the basement of grandma. So before you spend money, always ask grandma! Surely there are still a handful of Weck glasses in the basement, which are destined for a good decoration purpose with a bit of luck. I can still well remember how the many glasses with my grandma always sorted accurately and with the finest delicacies from the garden in the basement shelf.

The traditional autumn decoration can be made of rosehips, or whatever you call them beautiful, from "fruits of the wild rose". Rosehip wreaths are rather minimalistic, but also a real eye-catcher in their red-orange color. You can distribute these throughout the apartment. Either you bring the fresh fruit to a thick wreath tied to the front door or you can use smaller wreaths as highlights on the walls and on the table.

For a playful eyecatcher you just have to arrange many beautiful leaves in all the colors of autumn in a large bowl. Gladly add some acorns or chestnuts. If you spray the acorns on gold, you also create a small glamor factor, which provides in the yellow autumn light for a particularly wooly-warm atmosphere.

If it should not be too fancy, you can easily set small accents. You can decorate some massive block candles, which are very simple in itself. The autumnal ambience is complemented by a ribbon made of natural ribbon, which can be used to decorate colorful leaves, berries and various small finds. Especially on the table makes a candle arrangement very well. Bast or felt ribbons can be used in a variety of ways. With it you can transform just about any accessory.

The most beautiful thing about handicrafts with small finds from the forest is that you can put together a beautiful decoration idea according to your taste. And this can be added to any autumn walk. The creativity and experimentation are therefore no limits in the fall .

Next time, I will dedicate myself entirely to the theme of Christmas and have some great ideas for the winter Advent season!

All the best,
Your Eva Brenner
