Etsy shop sells Kurt Cobain farewell letter as a T-shirt

And the price for the most irreverent top goes to ...

Is it actually tasteless?

And there we have it: The first fashion scandal of 2015! A little bit we had hoped that more beads from the series "What do you think of something?" spared, but then came this shirt.

Oh yes, you can really try everything to make money. And that can really take on uncomfortable proportions, as this top from an Etsy shop shows. The unclearly scribbled T-shirt is actually decorated with the farewell letter from Kurt Cobain, which he wrote before he died on April 5, 1994.

WHY? There is really no reason to walk the sad last lines of a suicide on the chest, except perhaps that you are incredibly tactless. An attentive Etsy visitor reported the disturbing garment, which was then removed from the shop. Sadly, there are similar varsity style shirts on Ebay too.

Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean Cobain is (understandably) known for sharply criticizing any glorification of her father's suicide. We hope a little that she will never see this unreasonable design.

After more problematic creations like the Nazi blouse by Mango and the Kent State Sweater by Urban Outfitters, it's about time that fashion designers not only look for extraordinary designs, but also think about their responsibility to consumers.
