A darkly dressed activist stands in the woods, surrounded by two policemen who are just waiting to take her. But for the video, she may take time. " It's not about suppressing the freedom of expression, " says the spokesman for the Aachen police "Bild". So she tells.
"You'll never understand what it's like sitting on a tree house and feeling like you're living on a living being, " says the activist, who - she says - is not fighting for herself, but for everyone. Since Thursday, the forces clear the Hambacher forest, which will soon be cleared. The energy company RWE is supposed to be able to continue mining lignite there. But the resistance is great.
Environmentalists barricade themselves between the tree houses and the peaks. Gradually, they are brought out of the trees. Lift trucks, clearing vehicles and specially trained climbers are in action, reports "bento.de". Many activists have been living in the Hambach Forest for more than five years. So did the activist, who attached herself to the tree house with a chain to make it harder for the task forces to speak out.
Not only the internet community seems to touch the speech emotionally. Even the policeman next to the activist turns away from her several times. "They probably think they won. But they can not do that because they need the forest and this earth, "the activist says before ending her speech.
