Why Selfies Can End Deadly

The Terrible Truth: The popular selfies can be a lot more dangerous than most of us have assumed so far. So far, more people have died this year taking a self portrait than a shark attack.

For the perfect picture, many people go to the limits of the possible - sometimes with a fatal outcome. In total, 12 people died in 2015 because they tried to take a unique selfie. More people died because of a self-portrait than a shark attack. Four of the deceased fell because they wanted to take a selfie.

Recently, a Japanese tourist was reported rushing down the stairs of the Taj Mahal as he was trying to take a selfie. After his fall, the man suffered a heart attack.

This case shows that some people throw some sense for an exciting selfie overboard: At the beginning of the year, two young men died in Russia because they wanted to take a photo with a hand grenade. The result of this insane action: they blew themselves up.

In addition, in national parks, the animal attacks pile up because selfie-mad people no longer keep the prescribed distance to the wild animals . For a good photo, they whistle for keeping the rules and putting their lives in danger.

The most common cause of dangerous and deadly selfies : lack of attention. If you focus more on the screen of your smartphone than on your surroundings, you will not be able to react in time if something happens, you lose your balance or a wild animal comes too close.
