Parents now face up to 20 years in prison

To show her son how bad alcohol is for him, a couple of parents let him drink everything he wants for an evening. It is a lesson with deadly consequences.

For years, the 16-year-old Kendal Ball from the small village of Urie (US state of Wyoming) begged his parents to finally try alcohol. Finally, Mother Paulette and Stepfather gave in to Jospeh and had him drink as much alcohol as he wanted for one evening. They wanted to give him a memo and show him exactly how bad he would feel after drinking alcohol. Kendal was by no means to be like his father, an alcoholic Paulette Richardson had parted with.

The event took place on July 6, 2015 at 8:30 pm with Joseph Kunkle, a friend of the family. Paulette and Joseph Richardson opened their house bar and let Kendal drink whatever he wanted. For two hours, the teenager poured not only beer, but also two different types of whiskey (Jack Daniel's and Fireball) into it. At around 10:30 pm, the 16-year-old was already so drunk that he had to be supported by his stepfather on his way to bed. When his mother looked after him again after half an hour, he should still have signaled her with a raised thumb, that everything would be alright.

But when stepfather Joseph threw another look into the bedroom of Kendal at about 3:45, the boy was no longer approachable. He reacted to nothing and had stopped breathing. An ambulance was called. For the 16-year-old, however, any help came too late. The lesson ended fatally.

According to Sheriff Doug Matthews, the boy's eyes and lips turned blue when they were found. Kendal has vomited several times during the night. Not surprisingly, the forensic scientist later found a blood alcohol value of an incredible 5.87 per thousand. To the police, stepfather Joseph said, "He always wanted more, we wanted him to get really sick of the alcohol, so we let him drink."

Paulette and Joseph Richardson were arrested immediately after the incident and have been in custody since July 7, 2015. If found guilty, they face up to 20 years imprisonment. Against the friend of the family is still being determined.

Unbelievable how far these parents went, just to teach their son a lesson.
