Model Winnie Harlow makes her supposed blemish a trademark. She suffers from the skin disease Vitiglio - and is a favorite with "America's Next Top Model". We show their first big campaign for Desigual.
There are people who doubt less about themselves than others. They dare deviations from the norm. They are satisfied with what nature offers them so do not constantly question themselves. They even succeed in pulling their self-esteem straight out of their otherness. For them, a fat butt is no reason to miss a mini skirt, a small breast no purchase incentive for a Wonderbra. And a skin disease is no reason not to put the dream of modeling into action.
That's what happened to Model Winnie Harlow (her stage name, actually Chantelle Brown-Young). She suffers from vitiligo, a pigmentation disorder of the skin called white spot disease, and is a participant in the current season of America's Next Top Model . Now the model with the extraordinary look landed her first big campaign for the label Desigual .
"For us it is clear: diversity and differences are the salt in the soup of life and make this only colorful and worth living, " it says at Desigual. "And luckily we are all like that: everyone is unique, everyone else, and that's just great." A high on the diversity of beauty!
