She wanted to do an experiment and put her smartphone aside for a whole afternoon

What a mother realizes after shutting her smartphone aside for a whole afternoon shakes and shames her deeply.

A full afternoon without a smartphone - you'd think that's quite possible. Actually, that's it.

As the young mother Brandie Wood tentatively waived a full afternoon on her smartphone, she has the device actually not really missing. She is a mother of twins and she loves her boys - of course. She always keeps an eye on her, even if she has her smartphone in her hand. At least that's what she thought.

But that afternoon, when she put away her smartphone, she instead noted down how many times her children looked over at her.

The result she shared on Facebook:

"Today I did an experiment watching my boys play, and I sat down in the corner of the room and counted how many times they saw me for a variety of reasons: to make sure I saw their cool tricks for approval or disapproval to get for their actions and to study my own reaction.

I just had to wonder what kind of impression I would have made on her if I had been involved in some kind of technology (smartphone, tablet, computer). Twenty-eight times my little angels wondered if the World Wide Web was more important than them. Twenty-eight times my boys would not have received the attention that even many adults are looking for. 28 times my children would have wondered if they were left alone emotionally. Twenty-eight times my children had confirmed that it depends on who you are online.

In a world in which we are accepted, as we seem to be and not as we really are, in a world where one finds affirmation in how many followers or likes we have in one world As our precious time with our loved ones is more and more replaced by isolation and text messages from the room next door, I ask you to be different.

Please put the electronics aside and spend time with your family and loved ones. The next generation of children is counting on you. You have to show what it means to grow up. Do not be too busy on social networks. You never know who is watching you and what you are teaching him. "
