The honest interview

She is a strong woman. A beautiful woman. A woman, firmly anchored in herself: Success in her job - with her "Talk by One" and the new series "Germany is getting pregnant" (both SAT.1). Happiness in love - with her husband Ralph (39). And the little family - with little daughter Soma (2). A lifelong dream. Actually.

But just when it runs so perfectly, first doubts creep in. Is that all? Is that what I really want? Thoughts that also plague Britt Hagedorn (37). With NEW POST, the presenter talked about her very private plans:

Do you have to be a mom to present a TV format about baby luck?

Britt Hagedorn: I'm afraid: yes! You know the problems first-hand - and you know that everything is not always running smoothly. That's pure passion.

Were there any situations that moved you?

Britt Hagedorn: I was emotionally showered - there were nice, but also very sad moments. No fate leaves me cold. Because: child love is a kind of basic love. There are always many fears, which almost goes as far as anxiety.

Have tears flowed?

Britt Hagedorn: I cried partly without restraint. There were depressing stories. But I also saw the perfect luck. I was present at some births.

Did you experience your own pregnancy for the second time?

Britt Hagedorn: There are certainly parallels. Luckily my daughter Soma was completely uncomplicated. Still, although I thought I was prepared for everything, my body did weird things.

You work in Hamburg and live in Essen - how long is that good?

Britt Hagedorn: Not forever. I've been commuting for seven years now, often hanging around. Meanwhile, I have the situation better under control - and my husband Ralph must often follow me behind.

And your husband wants a second child ...

Britt Hagedorn: Preferably immediately! Also I would like a sibling for Soma. That would be a gift! But I feel no pressure.

Would you also leave your North German homeland for love?

Britt Hagedorn: I've been living in the Ruhr area for years, where I really like it. But a complete separation is impossible. So I just bought something in Hamburg - also, so that my parents can experience my child.

Which program do you moderate in ten years?

Britt Hagedorn: (laughs) First my "Talk" contract was extended. But I realize that I need a challenge - maybe a gala. Or the broadcasting station of Johannes B. Kerner? I should call the ZDF ...

They have become slimmer! Is that the stress?

Britt Hagedorn: No. There is a bet with my husband. If I lose ten kilos until New Year's Eve, he has to pay for a shopping spree. Clothes, jewelery - what belongs to it. There are still four kilos missing. I fight. But nature has the last word.
