Ben Moon says goodbye with a moving video of his dog Denali

Photographer Ben Moon and his dog Denali were best friends on earth. In his farewell video for Denali, Ben Moon lets us share this love.

"It's impossible to put into words what you were to me and will always be for me. Thank you for your unwavering faith in me. Good journey, my friend!"

With these moving words, the photographer Ben Moon says goodbye to his dog Denali, as he loses the fight against cancer.

This farewell is the end of a long, shared journey that proves how wonderful love can be. Denali shows us all what it really means to be someone. Because before he himself had cancer, it was his master, who had to fight the disastrous illness.

It's been a year since Denali passed, I still miss that guy! My mom snapped this photo of us in '04 while I was in the hospital after cancer surgery. Denali never left my side during that intense year, and I was so grateful for his companionship and to the nurses who let him stay with me. #mansbestfriend

In 2004, the colorectal cancer was diagnosed at Ben Moon and treatment lasted for one year. In the long, lifeless hours at the hospital, it was Denali who never left his owner. "He was so careful that he did not touch anything that hurt me and did not take me any space, " says Ben Moon of this difficult time.

Here's to embrace the growth, transition, and getting out there in the upcoming year! (throwback to a couple of winters back on the Oregon coast)

Ben Moon had discovered Denali as a puppy in a shelter. From the first meeting with the cute Husky mongrel, he reports on today.com: "He got on my feet, rolled onto his back and looked at me. It felt like he had chosen me. " Together, the two traveled the world, bathed in the sea, climbed mountains, slept in the camping bus.

On February 2, 2014, Denali died. When Ben Moon realized that he would soon have to say goodbye to his beloved dog, he asked a friend of his and Denali to take shots on the beach.

@jackjohnson carving a line at "The Ditch" while my late great dog Denali looks at. "Jack was riding a tiny @ gerrylopezsurfboards 5'2", shaped like this Summer of 2005 and I was finally recovering from a year of cancer treatments, so I was pretty stoked to hang out with it and got it out. Later that eve, both Jack and the opener @mattcostamusic were kiddied to let me shoot their show Thanks again !, a gesture which changed my career path and ignited a passion for photographing fellows in their element.

From these shots and old photos of the two traveling, a beautiful video has been created that documents the love between Ben and Denali. Dogs are man's best friends, rarely has it become as clear as in this touching movie artwork.
