Do it yourself: Autumn decoration ideas with pumpkins

Pumpkins are the landmarks of autumn. We have 6 simple decoration ideas for you, with which you can make the plants even more autumnal.

What you need for the pumpkins with zigzag pattern:

  • pumpkins
  • Adhesive tape in different widths
  • Spray paint (www.mtn-shop.de)
  • scissors
  • Paper for the work surface

And that's how easy it is:

1. Mask off the desired "zigzag pattern" with tape on the pumpkin. Use different widths of adhesive tape.

2. Mask the stem with adhesive tape as well.

3. Put the pumpkin on the paper and sprinkle with plenty of paint.

4. Immediately after spraying, carefully remove the painter's crepe and let the paint dry.

Tip: Sprinkle pumpkin wholly or partially in golden color as desired.

You need this for the pumpkin arrangement:

1. Cut the pumpkin up in a circle and hollow out.

2. Fill the opening with moss. Insert branches.

3. Draw sheets on construction paper or sheet music and cut out.

4. Glue the cut leaves and beechnuts to the branches as you like.

5. Decorate some beech nuts as desired on the moss bed.

What you need for the heart lanterns:

  • 2 Hokkaido pumpkins
  • Cookie Cutter Heart (eg from Staedter)
  • tealights
  • knife
  • spoon
  • cutting board

And that's how easy it is:

1. Use a knife to cut off the pumpkin top about 3 cm below the stalk.

2. Remove the core housing with a spoon and thoroughly scrape out the pumpkin.

3. Place the heart cookie cutter on the chopping board with the sharp edge facing upwards. Place the pumpkin in the desired place and press under pressure into the cookie cutter until the heart is barely visible.

4. Remove the cookie cutter from the pumpkin.

5. Carefully press the pre-punched heart into the interior of the pumpkin. If necessary, cut the edges of the heart with a knife.

6. Insert tealight, light and replace the lid on the interface.

Do not allow candles to burn unattended and avoid drafts. Keep the burning bowl clean. If the candle smokes, wick shorten something. Only burn the candle on an incombustible base or use a self-extinguishing candle.

3. Remove the adhesive tape from the stalk, let the pumpkin dry well.

2. Cut a lid off the pumpkin with a knife. Completely hollow out pumpkin with a spoon.

3. Cut out the pattern with a drill.

4. Insert tealight.
