DIY tip: Make a practical herbal shelf

Photo: deco & style

Fine herb garden

Mint, chamomile, sage - our favorite herbs get a new home. Make your new herb shelf with this tutorial.

You need this for the herbal shelf:

  • Copies of herbal motifs (eg from a book)
  • Gel medium (eg of idea, about 9 €)
  • small wooden chest of drawers (eg from Ikea)
  • fine sandpaper
  • scissors
  • brush
  • sponge

And that's how easy it is:

1. Print the herb motif in the copy shop with the laser printer.

2. Cut out the motif.

3. Coat the printed side of the copy thick with the gel medium.

4. Now stick the motif with the coated side on the desired place on the dresser, making sure that no bubbles are formed. Allow to work overnight.

5. Carefully rub the paper with a sponge and warm water until the paper peels off and the motif becomes visible. Unevenness and adhesive residues can still be removed with fine sandpaper.

Done is the herb shelf !

Info: The subject can only be transferred with gel medium if it has been printed on a laser printer .
