This bag with the romantic Toile de Jouy fabric is the perfect companion for a shopping trip on a sunny Saturday. Imitate? Sure, of course!
What you need for the Toile de Jouy bag:
- Toile de Jouy fabric (department store, textile department)
- Cotton fabric in lilac
- fabric scissors
- Sewing machine and matching yarn
- sewing needle
And that's how easy it is:
1. Cut 2 strips of fabric in Toile de Jouy pattern 24 x 22 cm and 2 strips in lilac fabric 22 x 12 cm.
2. Place fabrics together right to right and sew them together to a bag of 20 x 30 cm. Turn.
3. Card the upper edge of the lilac-colored fabric inward and stitch tightly.
4. For the handles, cut 2 strips of fabric with Toile de Jouy pattern of 10 x 12 cm. Cut strips in half, iron and halve again. Stitch at the open side. Sew on the bag from the outside.
5. Sew two differently colored rosettes and attach to the bag .
6. Cut a strip about 8 x 40 cm wide for the rosette (for the smaller rosette, approx. 5 x 25 cm).
7. Sew both ends together at the narrow edge.
8. At the open edge inside the fabric with a stitch stitch threading. Pull the thread ends together, curl the fabric and knot the yarn well. This is how the flower is created. Sew rosettes onto the bag
