DIY inspiration Crochet pattern for a tree trunk draft stopper

Do you have a problem with drafts or do you find this tree trunk draft stop just nice as a decoration? Well then, quickly get to the crochet hooks!

It pulls? Just pushed this draft stopper outside the door and the problem is solved!

What you need for the draft stopper:

For the tree trunk:

  • Medium virgin wool (LL 80 m / 50 g) in beige, 200 g and brown, 50 g
  • Crochet hook 5, 0 mm
  • 1 draft stopper

For the mushrooms:

  • Medium-high new wool (LL 80 m / 50 g) in white, dark red and light red, leftovers
  • Crochet hook 4.0 mm
  • fiberfill

And this is how it's done:

The tree trunk:
BULK
Crochet a 30 ch loop with the beige yarn. Close the circle with 1 km, then crochet in rounds of round fM until the length of the draft stop is reached (about 130 Rd). Pull this cover over the draft stopper. Embroider the horizontal lines in the cross stitch with the brown yarn: thick lines of unequal length representing the bark.

BOLE ENDS
Make a thread ring with the beige yarn.
1st round: 6 sc in the ring.
2nd round: 2 sc in each st. You will receive 12 sts.
3rd round: * 1 dc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
ROUND 4: * 2 sc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 24 M.
ROUND 5: * 3 dc, 1 st in *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 30 M.
Cut the thread and sew it. Embroider concentric circles with the brown yarn in the stitch, which represent the annual rings. Embroider two circles on each tree trunk end. Sew the ends to the tree trunk.

The little mushroom:
STALK
Make a thread ring with the white yarn.
1st round: 6 sc in the ring.
2nd round: 2 sc in each st. You will receive 12 sts.
3rd round: * 1 dc, 1 dc *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
4-sixth Rd: 18 fm.
Cut the thread, leaving a thread end about 20 cm long to sew the foot to the mushroom. Fill with filling cotton.

HEAD
Make a thread ring with the white yarn.
1st round: 6 sc in the ring.
2nd round: 2 sc in each st. You will receive 12 sts.
3rd round: * 1 dc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
ROUND 4: * 2 sc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 24 M.
ROUND 5: * 3 dc, 1 st in *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 30 M.
Cut the thread and sew it. With the dark red yarn the 1.-5. Crochet as with the white yarn.
6th and 7th round: 30 fm.
Cut the thread, leaving a thread end about 20 cm long. Embroider white dots on the mushroom head using white yarn in a knot stitch. Fill with filling cotton. The different parts of the mushroom stick together and sew together.

The medium-sized mushroom:
STALK
Make a thread ring with the white yarn.
1st round: 6 sc in the ring.
2nd round: 2 sc in each st. You will receive 12 sts.
3rd round: 12 dc, always piercing the front mesh piece.
ROUND 4: * 1 sc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
ROUND 5: * 2 sc, 1 st beg *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 24 M.
6th round: 24 fm.
ROUND 7: * Skip 1 st, 3 dc *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
ROUND 8: * Skip 1 st, 2 dc *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 12 sts. Cut the thread, leaving a thread end about 20 cm long to sew the foot to the fungus. Fill with filling cotton.

The big mushroom:
STALK
Make a thread ring with the white yarn.

2nd round: 2 sc in each st. You will receive 12 sts.

4-12th Rd: 12 f.M.
Cut the thread, leaving a thread end about 20 cm long to sew the foot to the mushroom. Fill with filling cotton.

ROUND 8: * 1 dc, 1 st in *, repeat from * to * 5 more times. You get 18 M.
9th and 10th rounds: 18 fm.
ROUND 11: * 2 dc, 1 st in *, repeat from * to * 5 more times.
You get 24 M.
12th and 13th rounds: 24 fm.
Cut the thread, leaving a thread end about 20 cm long. Embroider white dots on the mushroom head using white yarn in a knot stitch. Fill with filling cotton. The different parts of the mushroom stick together and sew together. Sew the mushrooms on the tree trunk.
