You can attach the pretty lanterns from tin cans with wire to a tree or just put them on the table. Here is the simple guide.

That's what you need for the lanterns:

  • two differently sized, empty cans
  • Spray paint (from MTN 94)
  • Wire in 2 mm thickness (from idea)
  • Mason Jars
  • Fabric scraps strips or ribbons
  • pen
  • Cordless drill (about 2 and 4 mm) or nail and hammer

And that's how easy it is:

1. Paint the desired pattern on the cans with the pen.

2. Use a drill or a nail and hammer to puncture the pattern at regular intervals.

3. Spray the cans in the desired colors. Let the paint dry.

4. To hang the wire, thread it through two holes and twist it.

5. Knot strips of fabric or ribbons around the mason jars and place them towards the lanterns.

Info: Use spray paint on paper underlays only in well-ventilated areas or outdoors, wearing gloves and mouthguards.
