Customer toilets, maybe even a coffee machine and background music: These extras will in future enrich the new branches of Aldi Süd in order to attract new customers.

The food discounter Aldi wants to gain new customers with modern branches and relies on customer-friendliness. For this purpose, there will be customer toilets in all Aldi-Süd stores in the future. But that's not all, because more attractive services are planned. A concept market in the Munich area is currently testing the use of coffee and recipe dispensers as well as electronic advertising displays and background music.

Service quality is becoming more and more important in the competition of large supermarket chains like Aldi, Rewe, Lidl. Aldi Süd is by no means the first discounter to rely on customer toilets. Rewe and Kaufland have also installed toilets in their newer branches. The prices of food alone seem to be no longer a decisive argument.

In southern and western Germany Aldi Süd operates current 1850 branches, in which about 36, 200 people are employed. According to Aldi's company spokeswoman, the new elements taken up by Aldi Süd should also be taken over in other branches, should they prove themselves.
